Going sailing definitely is very different to when you go on holidays ashore, a mix of adventure, luxury, tranquility and excitement which can appeal to one and all!
Sailing trips are different to any other type of holiday for a number of reasons, one of the most important ones is lack of limitless space on board! The other one is that while sailing, you may end up sweating during the daytime, but feel chilly when night falls. With this in mind we present the ideal packing list for your sailing holiday so you will enjoy every moment on board and get the most out of your yachting adventure with Aegean Sea Cruises!
Essentials: Start planning your packing by selecting the right luggage! When you come on board don’t pack excessively. A duffle bag or even a back pack should be more than enough for a week’s sailing. Any hard-cased suitcase is difficult for your skipper to bring it on board and will fill up space in your cabin that you wish you had available for yourself!
For both men & women the necessary clothing you should consider bringing is:
Ladies particulars: A couple of strap tops, few vest tops, and 5-6 t-shirts will be enough for a week. A pair of denim shorts, a couple of dresses for a night-out and underwear will be the utmost essentials for a lady on a yacht! Sandals since you’re sailing Greece are also a must!
Men particulars: Guys, this is mostly so you don’t forget the important stuff! So, a couple of jeans or linen trousers along with a couple of shirts will be enough for looking like a yachtie when ashore! Apart from swimsuits, flip-flops, jacket and sunnies, a pair of closed shoes will be fine for when you’re about to go for a stroll & don’t forget your undies & a belt!
The Sailing Cruise with one of the best Sailing Yachts to the beach of Navagio and the famous Blue Caves, is a special experience.
The trip starts at about 9 am. The appointment is given at the main port of the town of Zakynthos.
The experienced crew of the boat will welcome you, serve you and take care of giving you unforgettable moments.
The first stop is Blue Caves, a unique beach whose waters have healing qualities due to its high content in sulfur.
The next stop is at the Blue Caves, where the water gets a wonderful turquoise color, out of the game with the sun. The boat gets into the caves, allowing the visitor to enjoy the crystal-clear water. The sea tour continues with the famous Shipwreck beach, which is now better known by the name ‘Navagio’.
One of the most photographed places on the planet is the beach “Navagio” in Zakynthos: a beach with fine white sand, rocks that dominate imposingly protecting it and the remaining deck of the ship “Panagiotis” to tell his story.
There the passengers will enjoy the sun and the sea and will be photographed against the background of the steep rocks and the shipwreck “Panagiotis”, which for decades has been standing there to remind of his adventure. With a background of either a distant beach from the dozens that exist and have remained “virgin” or a cosmopolitan one, the passengers can enjoy the snacks, sweets, refreshments or spirits that the crew has arranged to be on board.
Of course, if the passengers would like to, just before the return there is the possibility to stop at one of the wonderful seafront restaurants, for fresh fish and Greek flavors. Finally, the group will return to the port of Zakynthos, after sailing near the beaches of Makris Gialos, Mikro Nisi, Xiggia, Alykes, Alykanas, Tsilivi and Akrotiri. The return is about 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
If the passengers require something else that is not mentioned in the program of the trip, they may ask the captain to take into consideration the conditions and the weather, to decide if he can fulfill their requirements.
